The definition of carbon brush: carbon brush out of context, is made of carbon (that is, graphite, but some use alloy (sheet) instead of graphite carbon brush). The carbon brush is a component on the surface of the phase changer in the brushed motor. When the motor rolls, the electric energy is transmitted to the coil through the phase changer, because its primary component is carbon, called carbon brush, which is easy to wear. Should be punctual maintenance and replacement, and pick up the accumulation of carbon brush.

Carbon brush is used on the commutator or slip ring of the motor as a sliding touch body that exports and imports current. Its electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and smooth functions are excellent, and it has a certain mechanical strength and a talent for commutation sparks. Almost all motors use carbon brushes, which are the primary components of the motor. It is widely used in all kinds of AC and DC generators, synchronous motors, battery DC motors, crane motor collector ring, various types of welding machines and so on. With the opening of scientific skills, the variety of motors and the operating conditions are constantly increasing. Therefore, there are various brushes with different grades to meet these demands. Therefore, the variety of brushes is also increasing with the opening of the motor industry. In order to facilitate the use and management, we have classified many brushes.

Carbon brush-carbon brush equipment 1. The carbon brush is installed in the brush holder to ensure that it can move up and down at leisure. The vacancy between the carbon brush and the inner wall of the brush holder is between 0.1-0.3mm, so as to prevent the carbon brush and the brush holder from shaking due to excessive vacancy. The spacing of the lower edge of the brush holder from the commutator surface should be maintained at about 2mm. If the interval is too small, the brush holder will touch the commutator briefly. If the interval is too large, the carbon brush will easily shiver and cause damage.

2. On the same motor, in principle, the same type of carbon brush should be used. However, for large and medium-sized motors that are extremely difficult to commutate, twin carbon brushes can be used. The sliding side is smooth and has good function, and the sliding side is selected. Carbon brushes with strong spark suppression ability, so that the work of carbon brushes can be improved.

3. The unit pressure applied to each carbon brush of the same motor should be uniform to avoid uneven current distribution, resulting in overheating and sparks of a single carbon brush. The unit pressure of the carbon brush should be selected according to the "carbon brush skill function table". For motors with higher speed or motors working under vibration conditions, the unit pressure should be properly trekked to ensure normal operation. For example, the unit pressure of carbon brush of tractor motor is 0.4-0.6kgf/cm2.

Usually the unit pressure of the carbon brush is too low, which is the aggravation of the wear of the carbon brush, the unit pressure is too large, the touch is unstable, and the simple oiub mechanical spark.
